Hence, conditioners would not be needed as it cannot penetrate the coating.

The best way to take care of your seats is to clean it occasionally using a damp microfibre cloth. This removes dirt, oils and other undesired residue. If they are stubborn, try dipping the cloth into some diluted detergent. After cleaning, make sure to air your vehicle.

Try to keep your seats dry as prolonged moisture can cause the seat cover to shrink or crack.

Lastly, do not use seat covers unless your seats are already damaged or torn. Covers can trap dirt and debris, creating friction. Overtime it can cause permanent scratches or creases.

We hope that these short tips have been helpful!

Should I customise my car seats? http://leatheretc.sg/should-i-customise-my-car-seats/ http://leatheretc.sg/should-i-customise-my-car-seats/#respond Wed, 27 Jul 2022 03:14:41 +0000 http://leatheretc.sg/?p=1319 Being able to customise your interior provides an opportunity to showcase your personality and taste – it definitely should not be neglected! It can complement the exterior of your car and further elevate your vehicle. For example, a red interior can give off a sporty feel whereas a brown or cream interior would look more classic, matching the vibe of continental cars such as a Mercedes.

It is a fun process as many things can be chosen to your liking. From colour combinations of the seats, stitching to materials, the end result would be uniquely your own. You get to choose everything based on your budget, comfort and lifestyle.

Some companies also offer diamond stitching as well as embroidery of text and logos. These details can be done in a contrasting thread colour to make it pop.

If all these sound good to you, feel free to contact us at 6848 2112 or sales@leatheretc.com.sg for a free consultation, and we will try our best to fulfil your wishes!

Which material should I choose? http://leatheretc.sg/which-material-should-i-choose/ http://leatheretc.sg/which-material-should-i-choose/#respond Wed, 27 Jul 2022 03:13:04 +0000 http://leatheretc.sg/?p=1321 There are 3 common types of materials for car seats; namely genuine leather, microfiber leather and PVC (arranged according to price).

Cowhide leather, being the priciest, is made out of natural cow skin which has been processed. It is often the most luxurious material, as well as the most breathable. In Singapore’s hot weather, the seats might feel hot but it would not feel “sticky”. Additionally, some people might enjoy the distinct smell of cowhide leather.

Microfiber leather is manmade, very closely resembling genuine leather in terms of appearance. Due to its chemical properties, it might even be more durable and resistant than real leather.

Lastly, PVC and PU leather are on the more affordable spectrum. They are also artificial leathers, but in comparison to the other 2, it might not age as well and could be prone to peeling over time.

Overall, each type of material has its own pros and cons. It is up to you to decide which would best suit your lifestyle. For example, if you value better ventilation and a more premium feel, you can go for genuine leather. If you have pets and children, and are worried about wear resistance, you can choose microfibre leather. If the most important factor is price, PVC or PU leather would be a good choice.

We hope that this article has helped you understand more about the difference between car seat materials!
